Just a few years after the turn of the millennium, PADI reported that there were 23 million certified scuba divers around the world.

People that want to learn how to dive will receive their instruction from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, better known for its acronym PADI. Always find a certified diver that has the official recognition as being a diving instructor who will test and train you appropriately. Once your initial training is done, there is additional training that is more advanced that you can also learn. To become a dive master, this advanced training and instruction is needed. Scuba diving is the kind of sport that can give you a lifetime full of fun, excitement and rewarding experiences.

As covered before in other articles, you are advised to make the best use of the air intake. This is in fact a renowned topic for those that have been diving for quite some time. The focal point it to allow a diver trainee the ability to recognize the importance of air and how to use it efficiently. In other words, the less action used the better for you. Once you get a little experience, shoot for using your arms as little as possible. Your fins have the efficiency that you need. In order to utilize your air usage to the fullest you would rely on your fins, once you have eased up on your arms.

One thing you will learn while diving is to become neutrally buoyant which will help you when doing 15 foot safety stops Surface buoyancy can be properly determined by using this trick: use an almost empty tank for your dive. Additionally, slightly negative buoyancy could be established using a buoyancy compensator; to do this you need to have no air in the BC, your lungs only half-full, and the tank completely full of air at the surface level.

Another thing to be careful of is using excessive weights that are on your belt. You can do just fine with a couple of pounds, 1 to 2, of weight. The main goal is to test until you find a way to be neutrally buoyant.

In the first part of the dive, you should make sure to equalize and do it regularly. Divers with experience advocate going through the equalization steps before you enter the water. The reason would be to get your ears ready for what will happen next. This process should be applied after you are in the water, as you reach every so many feet. When dropping down deep into the water you are able to sidestep any sort of dilemma and this is to your advantage. You might discover that one of your ears is not equalizing; when this happens, just turn that ear to the surface. Scuba diving is an one of a kind sport and can be overwhelming for some. This is not a sport that may enable the majority to partake as often as they might want to. Anyone who enjoys this particular sport will not find too many excuses not to participate; even a long distance from water.
