Shortly after getting the keys the bills started to come, I was astonished by the price of all my bills: home phone, line rental, energy, TV license and water to name just a few! I decided something had to change other wise these big companies were going to bleed me dry. I one by one called around all of my current suppliers, trying to shave some money off each of the bills and even cancelling a couple. The conversations and calls took days! I was sent from one department to another, speaking to staff who could barely grasp the English language and waited in never ending queues with headache inducing music. There was a limit to the amount of this I could take each day before I got overwhelmed by frustration and needed a break.
Eventually the end of the week came and most services had been reduced. I removed some channels from the TV package, cancelled a data bundle from my mobile phone and changed energy suppliers. I was much happier and was now sure that I was receiving all the services I needed the lowest price around.
A couple of months later whilst riding my motorbike, a car pulled out of a side road and which resulted in me hitting the front wheel and being thrown over the bonnet. I hit the ground with a thump which resulted in a broken leg and many torn ligaments in my knee. Two operations and some weeks later I was lying at home, unable to move, with the urge to be productive and wanting to find a new temporary job. After many days of research and contemplation I discovered a company called the Utility Warehouse.
The Utility Warehouse is company which uses multi level marketing as a means to find new customers. They have a large network of independent distributors who become customers, then recommend the services to family, friends and friends of friends
I became a distributor, learnt all I could about the business and the company then along the way I switched my home phone, broadband, gas, electricity and mobile phone services to them. As they had no contracts and paid ?200 towards cancelling my a couple of my current contracts, I had nothing to lose, I was even given free global phone calls all day, every day! I had to phone the call centre once to solve an issue I was having with the reading of my electricity meter and was delighted that the call was answered in less than a minute. The technical help was superb and I was even informed that all the companies award winning call centres were based in London with English speaking staff, it was even free to call and my query was sorted right away.
All the services had become live within 4 weeks. When the first bill came through, I was delighted once again, everything was itemised and on one bill, with a saving of over roughly 30% compared with my previous suppliers, which were four of the major companies.
Straight away I recommended the company to many family and friends, I was their personal distributor, helping them with quotes and doing all the paperwork over the phone, perfect with my inability to drive and limited walking for four months after the operation.
